Due to rain predicted in the French Alps we will be headed to the sunny, Swiss riviera of Montreux to hike the newly opened Gorges du Chauderon.
Two years ago our group tried to walk this trail to see the spring wild narcissus. They had closed the gorges the previous day due to a rock slide. Since then they have secured the trail and according to various reports the trail reopened this past weekend.
I’ve mapped the trail and we would walk up, up, up for two hours: 621 Vertical meters and 5 kilometers. Remember to bring plenty of water, food, sturdy shoes and poles.
We'll be taking the train at 9:10 to Montreux (direction Brig).
Please RSVP. Christine BB is the contact, though this great replacement was suggested by Debra!
