We are photography enthusiasts exploring the fascinating world of digital photography. Our objectives are to help you develop your own style, improve the use of your camera, and have fun. Activities include monthly meetings, monthly themes, photo exercises, excursions, our Flickr group and creating the AIWC photo wall. Beginners and experienced photographers welcome. Type of camera is not important.
This month - Jennah and Roxana will take over the leadership role from Yvonne who is stepping down and who has done a brilliant job and loved every minute of it. Come along to the photo meet up and get to know the new leaders.

Photo Group workshop : using winter window light
Learning : Roxana (MA Photography) will offer a mini-workshop on using the natural light from windows to create mood in wintertime photography. We'll review the work of two great still life photographers and try to recreate their approach. Skill level required: all skill levels.
Sharing : Also, bring printouts of your favorite recent photos to share and to discuss. Photos especially encouraged from the recent theme “all that sparkles” and the recent excursion to Geneva Lux. Please bring in 1-5 photos, perhaps several versions of the same frame, and we'll discuss composition and techniques that have been employed, and how they influence the way the images are read. If you haven't participated in the Geneva Lux, you can bring in 1-5 printed photos from your personal archive, preferably featuring landscapes.
What do you need:
- a photo camera or, if you dont have a camera, you could bring in your smartphone. If you own several lenses, please bring a standard 50 mm lens or a macro lens
- props : a few objects which have interesting shapes, textures or colors, which you'd like to photograph. Could be fruit or veggies ( red peppers, pears..), or other objects e.g. colored glass bottles, transparent colored plastic bags or anything that inspires you and it's easy to bring in on location:) Perhaps you'd like to print out the resulting image and have a nice framed picture for yourself.

The photography group meets once a month on the 4th Tuesday.
Once you register, a confirmation email will be sent to you with Jennah's and Roxana's contact information and specific details about the meet up.
We shall also keep our enthusiasm going with our 'Monthly Themes'.
We choose a theme each month (as shown below) and share our photographs on our AIWC (private) Flickr site. You will need an invitation to join this group. Please contact Melissa. Melissa also posts lots of information under the discussions section about photography exhibitions, printing services, local events and Courier themes.
