Come join us on the fourth Thursday of each month to experience museums, concerts and other cultural events. Each outing will be followed by either coffee or lunch near the venue. Details about the activity will be posted on the Activity Updates Forum. Subscribe to the Forum by clicking here and receive up-to-date announcements.

This month we'll visit two cultural spots in Lausanne. We will travel by train and visits will be followed by an optional lunch. Train travel, entrance fees and Lunch will be at the participants charge.

1) Beaulieu Lausanne: VAN GOGH ALIVE, an immersive multimedia exhibition

Van Gogh's life, figures and landscapes are the absolute protagonists of this immersive multimedia exhibition, dedicated to the great Dutch painter who, with his unique and incomparable style, laid the foundations of modern art.
Synchronized with a powerful and suggestive music, more than 3000 images in high definition will create an electrifying decor that will fill the giant screens, walls and columns, from ceiling to floor, completely immersing the visitor in the vibrant colors and intense details that characterize Van Gogh's style.
Come explore the life, artistic evolution, history and works of the great master, understand his thoughts and emotions, accompany him in his wandering between Paris, Arles, Saint-Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise, the places where he created several masterpieces, and discover the techniques of his painting in an explosion of animated details. The exhibition is presented both in French and German. (unfortunately, no English)

Participants will be required to pay for their entrance ticket.

Ticket price 26 - 30 CHF

2) Platform 10  Fine art, photography, design, textile arts: by their very nature, these artistic fields have reason to enter into dialogue. The union of MCBA, the Musée de l’Elysée and the mudac, complemented by the presence of the Toms Pauli and Félix Vallotton Foundations, form PLATEFORME 10, a new “arts district” next to the Lausanne train station. It is a genuine cultural platform that aims to overstep the natural barriers of each of the institutions on site, in order to give the place an energy and a competitiveness that are highly attractive. Platform 10 is a huge & impressive structure, three museums under one roof.

The permanent exhibition is free of charge, visiting exhibition 15 CHF (AVS), 20 CHF full-price
