Kids are Welcome
Fun for the children guaranteed and for the moms, a chance to meet new
friends or catch up with old ones. For all this and more please join
the KAW group for our activities this month. As always, PLEASE RSVP for
all events to a coordinator (phone, e-mail or SMS). We wouldn’t want
you to miss out, especially if there is a last-minute change of plans.

A visit to a park with lots to offer. Today’s outing is to Signal de
Bougy near Rolle. We’ll visit the animals, play in the playgrounds and
share a snack either from the restaurant or brought from home. Let’s
plan to meet in the playground just past the restaurant and, again,
allow yourself about 45 minutes from downtown Geneva. Directions: Take
the auto route direction Lausanne and exit at Rolle. Turn left off the
ramp and at the first intersection turn right, then just stay on the
road all the way up the hill until you see the sign for Signal de
Bougy. The parking lot at the very end is the closest to the restaurant.

Let’s meet at the children’s playground in the Jardin Botanique. Give
your kids a ride on the most fantastic carousel in Geneva. There are
lovely walking paths throughout the park, so bring the kids’ bikes and
scooters, too. There is also a café for the moms next to the
playground as well as a small zoo for the kids. Please bring a snack
for all to share.
Directions: Buses 1,11 and 28, stop Jardin Botanique.

This afternoon, let’s meet at the Parc des Evaux in Onex. There is a
children’s playground more suited to the bigger kids, a little train
that’s great for all ages, and lots of space for playing ball or flying
a kite, if it’s a windy day. Please bring a snack for all to share.
Directions: Take route de Chancy to Onex, turn onto chemin Francois
Chavaz (there is a church at the intersection) and follow the signs for
the Centre Sportif
des Evaux. At the end of ch. Fr. Chavaz is the restaurant Moulin des
Evaux. The playground is behind the restaurant.

Let’s take the kids for a ride on the little White Train (the Paquis
Express on the Rive Droite, not the one leaving from Jardin Anglais).
This train goes through the parks on the Rive Droite and takes about 40
minutes. There’s an ice cream stand near where the train stops, so
let’s treat the kids to an ice cream afterwards and stay for a chat.
Directions: Train starts from the Rotonde de Mont Blanc, opposite the
Brunswick Memorial. Tickets are bought directly from the driver and
cost 7.90 CHF for adults and 4.90 CHF for children (no matter the age).

are enough of us.

Come and pick strawberries with us at the Ferme de Merlinge. You can
either bring containers to put the berries in or get them there. Meet
us in front of the barn at 15:00 (then we’ll go in to have our
containers weighed) or find us in the fields picking the berries. Bring
a snack to share and stay for a chat afterwords while the kids run or
visit the animals.
Directions: Ferme de Merlinge, 85 route de Gy, 1251 Gy
(www.fermedemerlinge.ch). Bus A leaves from Rive and stops directly in
front of the farm.

Baby Talk
We are a group of mothers with babies and young children who meet at
the Club every Tuesday and Thursday. Expectant mothers are also very
welcome! The Club has a great playroom full of toys to share
and explore. We often organize other events such as lunches, dinners
out and talks/presentations.
