Since founding in 1958, AIWC has given regularly donations to various charities and organizations. Here are some projects the Club has supported.
Baby Quilt Project
To mark our 50th anniversary in 2008, AIWC members got together to design, sew and donate over 80 baby quilts, each one a unique creation, to every premature baby born in the Hôpital Universitaire de Genève, (HUG) from June 2008 - 2009.
Camarada: Through our Grand Autumn Bazaar, the AIWC helped the Camarada Foundation - a center for migrant women - by donating a percentage of the proceeds from this event.
Friends of India: An organization that helps Indian women support themselves through education and vocational training, offering school facilities and drinking water.
The Ethiopian Food Appeal: An Ethiopian charity that provides schooling and meals to children.
AGIS (Association Genevoise pour d'insertion sociale): A Geneva organization which helps integrate disabled children and adults, especially immigrants.
Museum d’Histoire Naturelle (Museum of Natural History): Together with the University of Salt Lake City, U.S.A., the AIWC donated 2 dinosaur skeletons - a Camptosaurus and an Allosaurus.
