Cross Country Skiing (winter months)

Cross country skiing in the Jura, in the St Cergue and La Givrine area.  Dates and times to be arranged.  We will take the train from Nyon to La Givrine (or you can drive) and there we can ski on miles of groomed trails. Our level is easy and we will ski from one to two hours.  You will need a ticket or a season’s pass.

Easy Hiking & Summit Seekers

While these two walking groups have recently hung up their boots, we hope to offer occasional hikes for the more adventurous from Spring 2017 onwards. Anyone interested in leading or participating in hikes that provide a little more of a challenge (ie longer than two hours and traveling further from Geneva) should contact Friday Morning Hikes.

Friday Morning Hikes

This group walks for about two hours on Friday mornings in the Geneva countryside throughout the year, and occasionally venture further out for longer walks up to three hours. We make use of the public transport for all walks. If you are looking to explore the canton of Geneva, this is the group for you.

Ski Group

Interested in skiing? We welcome skiers of all abilities from beginner to advanced levels.

Winter Tennis

Join us for round robin doubles, playing once a week in winter and improve your French at the same time. Intermediate level. Rotation of play based on players’ availability, with most players playing 3 to 4 Wednesdays a month. Payment required in advance for full season members. Substitutes pay when they play. Possible lunch at Club restaurant following the match to be organized on an ad hoc basis but not obligatory. Advanced schedule of play from October to January available mid-September.

TENNIS – SPECIAL OFFER.  We have received a special corporate offer permitting AIWC members and their husbands to join TC Champel at Vessy at a reduced fee. Play indoors or outdoors from April to October, with a number of other special benefits, and optional winter weekend privileges. All levels welcome. A minimum of 10 AIWC members are needed to qualify for the discounted rate.

Yoga

Bring along your mat, a cushion to sit on, a blanket/towel and some comfortable clothing to participate in regular classes. All levels are welcome.
