Welcome, Bienvenue!

You don’t have to be American to join the American International Women’s Club of Geneva. The AIWC is a non-profit club offering support and friendship to English-speaking women of all nationalities residing in the Geneva area.

Founded in 1958, the AIWC currently has about 700 members from 50 different nationalities. We speak more than 10 languages. Our purpose is to provide our members:

  • A home away from home.
  • An opportunity to make new friends.
  • A smooth integration into the Geneva environment.
  • A chance to participate in more than 25 regular activities and other events.
  • A way to participate in community service.

The Courier, our monthly magazine offers useful information and interesting articles each month.

AIWC Charity

The AIWC has chosen the Au Coeur des Grottes foundation as our charity for 2011. Originally run by the Salvation Army, it is now a foundation under Swiss and Geneva Law. Au Coeur des Grottes is a foster home with psychosocial support, for thirty or more single women with their children, temporarily facing a precarious situation: family problems, domestic violence, exploitation in the workplace, human trafficing, difficulty in accommodation, and return from abroad.

The AIWC supports Au Coeur des Grottes with
  • Monetary contributions
  • Items for the residents
    • New or nearly new clothing suitable for women and children (to be sold at their boutique - Aux Tresors Retrouves Foundation Au Coeur des Grottes
    • Toiletries, toys, layettes
    • Baby Shower gifts for expectant mothers
  • Time to mentor and teach

The AIWC accepts donations of money and goods on behalf of Au Coeur des Grottes.
